The Century Council, founded in 1991, is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to fighting drunk driving and underage drinking.

Funded by our nation's distillers, the Council is dedicated to promoting responsible decision making about drinking or non-drinking of beverage alcohol through education, law enforcement, research, communications and other programs.

For nearly 15 years, America's distillers have supported the Century Council's efforts to combat drunk driving and underage drinking — enabling the Council to become a leader in this fight. While more must be done, due to the collective efforts of many organizations, the percentage of high school seniors who reported drinking in the past month declined 32% proportionally from 1982 to 2003, and the number of students in grades 6 to 12 who reported drinking alcohol in the last year has reached an all-time record low.
